Close to the Canadian border, you will find the jewel of the state Montana: Glacier National Park.

"The Going To The Sun Road" is the parkroad you don't want to miss.

But always check the actual weather and roadconditions before you go. We were there on July 2nd, 2014 and the road was partly closed due to snow at Logan Pass. Luckily we could drive via the West Entrance of the park to the parking lot where the hike to Avalanche Lake starts.

The hike is a 4,5 mile/7,2 km roundtrip with difficulty rate: moderate.

The reward of this hike is a glimp of this beautiful lake.
